The Land of La was formally founded in 2017, though Laura Babcock has been creating whimsy, personality-driven artwork ever since she can remember. After years of painting meaningful objects on keepsake cards for her friends and family (a dill pickle for her husband, a bottle of Tuscan wine for her brother), Laura turned her hobby and love language into a celebratory stationary brand inspired by nature, food, and color. From her home studio in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania, Laura designs with the intention of bringing a dose of joy to your every day.
Before becoming an artist full-time, Laura developed her keen eye for composition over 10 years as an art director at InStyle Magazine, where she perfected layout design for fashion and beauty editorials. In addition to her line of lively stationery, Laura works with brands and individuals on invitation suites, illustration projects, and more.
